Terms of Service

Effective September 13, 2026 · CyberDefenseDesk LLC, d/b/a Valley CISO

The terms that govern use of valleyciso.com, the free external scan, and how paid work begins.

Agreement between you and CyberDefenseDesk LLC d/b/a Valley CISO.

1. Informal website use vs paid services

Browsing the site and requesting a free scan or intro call does not create an IT support or vCISO engagement. Paid work starts only when both sides sign a service agreement (and, where required, an access authorization and any industry addendum such as a BAA).

2. Month-to-month

Public pricing is offered month-to-month after the agreement is signed. Either party may cancel as stated in that agreement (generally 30 days after any initial term). Fees already paid are not refunded except as the agreement says.

3. Acceptable use of the site

You may not submit domains you are not authorized to scan, attempt to break the site, or upload malware or other people's confidential data into forms.

4. No professional guarantees

Content on this website is general information, not legal, insurance, or compliance advice. We do not guarantee:

  • that any system is secure
  • that any insurer will offer, renew, or pay a claim
  • that you will meet HIPAA, CMMC, PCI, SOC 2, or similar frameworks

5. Scans

Scan output is a limited look at public configuration. It is not a penetration test, risk assessment, or attestation.

6. Limitation of liability (website)

To the maximum extent allowed by Arizona law, CyberDefenseDesk LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the website or free scan. Liability for website use is limited to $100 or the amount you paid us through the site in the prior three months, whichever is greater. Paid services are governed by the signed service agreement, which controls if it conflicts with these Terms.

7. Indemnity

You will defend and hold us harmless from claims arising out of domains or data you submit that you were not authorized to submit.

8. Governing law

Arizona law, courts in Maricopa County, Arizona, except where a signed service agreement says otherwise.
