What the Valley CISO brand does and does not mean, and the limits of the advisory, insurance documentation, and security work we perform.
Valley CISO is a brand of CyberDefenseDesk LLC, an Arizona limited liability company. “CISO” in the brand name describes a style of fractional security and IT leadership support. It does not mean we are appointed as an officer of your company or that we assume a corporate officer's statutory duties.
Independent contractor
We are not your employee, Privacy Officer, Security Officer, or insurance broker unless a separate signed document expressly creates that role.
Insurance
Documentation support is not insurance and is not a guarantee of insurability.
Healthcare and other regulated work
We do not access systems that may contain protected health information until a Business Associate Agreement (or the correct industry equivalent) is signed.
Security
No MSP, tool vendor, or advisor can eliminate risk. Clients remain responsible for approving security changes, paying for licenses, and keeping their own cyber insurance.
Response times
Times published on the site are targets during Arizona business hours.
Third-party products
Microsoft 365, endpoint detection, backup, and similar products are provided by their vendors under their terms. We are not those vendors.
